So a couple of years ago, I read a book called "Get Well Soon" by Jennifer Wright (well, actually, I listened to the audiobook on my commute) and it was about all the plagues in history... I keep thinking about that book as we live through COVID, and that the handling(such as it is) of this plague will be looked on in decades to come, the way she looked back on the handling of plagues back then. I may actually go back and listen to some of that book again. I am trying to remember if the 1918 plague was in it. It's been a couple years.

My great grandfather died in the 1918 flu. He was a firefighter in St Louis and my great grandmother was 6 months pregnant with my grandma at the time.  They cremated him before she even knew he'd passed.  Luckily my grandma was always a fighter. I got that from her.

  2. Don't think about how long the to do list is. Like DR break it up into baby steps. Maybe do something easy to get moving this morning and take breaks to drink water,  chat in the phone with a friend, and play with the kids occasionally.  :) start small.  Also taking a walk is helping with my anxiety but I have to go to the grocery store today and am dreading it again.

  3. Wow honey just so much going on. I agree with Vanguard recommendation or Fidelity if you can use their lowest cost index funds. You have until mid April to get those funded for 2017. Don't let that timeline slip by. I'm glad to see you didn't slip back into BS2. Time for some progress!!!

  4. To help pick the funds and understand retirement a little better read Bogleheads Guide to Investing. Most people are intelligent enough to do this in their own without paying a fee to an ELP. Vanguard and Fidelity both gave low cost index funds that with for most people. Feel free to pm me with questions!

You and your spouse crack me up! :-)

  5. Tiny houses are definitely becoming very popular. Sounds like with your equity you might be able to get one of those after a time. I doubt that market will go dowh in the next six months. Use that time to prioritize what you want to keep, purge, store if desired. We watch those shows all the time. I'm glad things are going amicably but it does concern me that you guys still share a banking account.
