  1. Accountability time! Just kidding,  kind of,  we miss you and I was wondering how life goes?

  2. I keep track of yearly totals in all of those accounts. It's encouraging to see growth year after year. Even in a down year where things stay pretty flat, usually the next few years do more than make up for it and that mortgage will be gone in no time. Great work!
  3. With a small debt balance like that first one you can find some snowflakes to get rid of it in no time! Good luck and check in to stay accountable.
  4. So curious to how life is treating you in your new locale! Check in with us sometime. :)

I've been thinking about her, too!

I didn't realize it'd been so long since she checked in. I guess my husband's deployment made things do this weird speed up/slow down thing. The pandemic schooling made everything feel like a time warp. This has been the most bizarre year ever!

  5. We miss you around here. Hope you are both well and able to enjoy some time at the holidays.

You must’ve been reading my mind! I’ll be posting some updates today.

I do that from time to time.  So does my daughter ha ha..I worry when people stay away too long like a mother hen. Looking forward to your update!

  6. That's so exciting! Definitely doesn't hurt to build it up as you save for a hint. We all know how expensive that can get!
  7. It's unbelievable right! When the mortgage is gone and those numbers continue to climb you'll be amazed at the progress!
  8. That is great! And honestly once you add a Roth IRA it adds another level of protection although ideally you'll never touch it. Good job staying focused, the faster you get through BS3 the faster you get to a step where your money can work for you so you won't have to someday!
  9. My great grandfather died in the 1918 flu. He was a firefighter in St Louis and my great grandmother was 6 months pregnant with my grandma at the time. They cremated him before she even knew he'd passed. Luckily my grandma was always a fighter. I got that from her.
  10. You are going to be over $100k in investments before you know it!
  11. Oh man, that's great progress!!!
  12. I know in our area alot of people are giving away extra milks from the lunches. Check your Facebook free groups for things that might help you guys pull it off this month. Try to remain positive and remember every step forward albeit small is better than taking a step back.
  13. I feel this. I'd give up my husband's yearly salary to keep him home for the next year. The money means nothing to me right now.
  14. Have you returned???

    Vacation Plans

We went to Disneyland on our first debt free vacation. Kiddos were 3 and 5 and I remember it like it was yesterday! Congratulations!
  16. Welcome Helen! What step are you on? How did you hear about LLNOE?

    Living...

Wow! I can't wait to join you!
  18. Your net worth is going to start to skyrocket!
  19. That's a good chunk of change! We use the interest from the money market to pay bills randomly or HOA at the end of year.
  20. Welcome to LLNOE!

  21. I just wanted to tell you how instrumental you have been in my spouse and I reaching our financial goals.  I truly hope you are able to make a full recovery and able to continue influencing others going forward.

    Life After Divorce

Wow honey just so much going on. I agree with Vanguard recommendation or Fidelity if you can use their lowest cost index funds. You have until mid April to get those funded for 2017. Don't let that timeline slip by. I'm glad to see you didn't slip back into BS2. Time for some progress!!!
  23. I'm so glad I checked the blogs. Who would've thought? That's just so awesome.
  24. To help pick the funds and understand retirement a little better read Bogleheads Guide to Investing. Most people are intelligent enough to do this in their own without paying a fee to an ELP. Vanguard and Fidelity both gave low cost index funds that with for most people. Feel free to pm me with questions! You and your spouse crack me up! :-)
  25. We just had baby girl this morning while the site was down. I call that getting things done!!!
