Hmm, I wonder if DH will finally have to stay home.  I've been staying home but sure that he will be the carrier who brings the virus home to me.  My system never met an upper respiratory infection that it could resist.  And the consequences are more and more distressing as I age, got the bronchodilator ready just in case.  Hope it passes us by.  Praying that the "flattening of the curve" measures work for us all and that the financial/political actions don't turn us into a third world country.

They shut down the job site my son works on as of today, which is fine with him because two people yesterday were there sick and wearing a mask.  He is 18 and was pretty freaked out about it, not that he worked near them, just the fact that he didn't know what they were sick with.  Dh has a couple remodeling jobs lined up, was able to get paint for one, windows were already delivered on another one, and the store where he buys crown molding is doing curb service with limited hours.  So we shall see how much he can do in the next few weeks. "Commercial" businesses are allowed to be open according to Gov. Hogan's list.

some good news, the person I know in ICU with the virus is now out of ICU and doing better. I'm so glad she's a great person... .  keep her in prayers if you would like too. thanks. :)

We have been on "Stay in Place" since Wednesday and before that it was "encouraged" - but my job is still open (gov't) and unless/until they offer administrative leave, I am not inclined to burn through my personal leave and our office doesn't have the equipment to let people work remotely.  We have the capability, just not the equipment.  They have supposedly ordered 5 laptops for our 14-person office.  Three people do need to stay home because of age and/or underlying health conditions, so that leaves two that they want to hold in reserve in case someone else needs it because of exposure or illness.  Our office space is set up so we are not on top of each other, social distancing was something we tended to do anyway (I work with a bunch of introverts), so I don't feel any more at risk about going to the office and back.  They are allowing flexible schedules to reduce the number of people in the office at once.  I took a personal day on Friday to help with that but also because I haven't had a day off since MLKJr in mid-January.  I used the time to do a few things around the house I've been wanting to do.

Out of a 9 man crew at my son's electrician job, they have 4 guys working.  My 18 year old is one of them, so we are grateful he has an income right now. He and I both have letters from our employer's stating we are "essential". Employees are wearing masks at work.

Florida is finally shutting down.  We don't know yet whether my husband's job is considered essential.  They have a roomy facility and everyone is way more than 6 feet apart.  But if they are classified non essential they have to shut down anyway.  This is the worst possible scenario for my family.  I'm not mad, and I don't think it's the wrong decision per se, because they can't really visit facilities on a case by case basis to make these determinations. I'm just actually worried for our financial future for the first time.  I was prepared to handle a paycut but not his entire paycheck gone.

He's been deemed essential.

I'm riding a roller coaster that I want off of. Every day is a new worry it seems!

I feel this.  I'd give up my husband's yearly salary to keep him home for the next year. The money means nothing to me right now.
