I figure I have 3-4 weeks before the house hop to our new house on base (current tenants vacate on the 28th). I just finished the majority my medical to do list today (Upcoming tests in the next 4 weeks: Gastric emptying for my failure to thrive little one, Sedated MRI for my son, EEG for my oldest daughter. All with follow up dr's appts to check results) so my free time can now be spent on working on the move instead of on hold with dr's offices.

I am so overwhelmed I can't even think straight on the subject. I needed some accountability so I thought I would post a list and update as I go along.

I couldn't even read it all; my brain stopped functioning about halfway down.  Will you be having the older girls help at all with the cleaning chores?  I'm guessing they could be a big help, especially if they had some special prize they could along the way.

They will help me with certain jobs for sure :) Especially their rooms! I need to get some totes so that we can start packing away the winter clothes. I hate doing the seasonal change out of clothes. Such a pain.

I did the kids bathroom tonight while supervising my son's bath. So irritating to find medications that expired in 2005. That means we moved it from England to Hawaii and then to New Jersey....and it was expired the entire time. Drives me nuts.

I figure having it all written out will help me do a little here and there throughout the day.

thank you for posting this.  It reminds me that I really need to download my brain and write down a master to do list.  I find it so helpful to have things listed as smaller tasks - a whole lot less overwhelming!!

Wow! That is quite a list!! Is it standard that all the rooms need to be painted? Or is it just because you have changed the wall color and / or they are scuffed up. I know you have a lot of little ones so completely understandable. I was just curious because just painting is a lot of work let alone the packing and cleaning.

You are doing all of this when you plan to move across the country soon?  Or did I miss something?  Is there any way you can stay in this house until your big move?

I would just stay in this house but hubby is adamant that we move to the bigger house with a garage. I have lost the battle on this one. The report date for the big move is March 2015, so just short of a year away. We normally move just about every year and a half anyways. This will be our 9th house in 10years.

The rooms need to be painted for a variety of reasons, scuffs, damage, crayons, etc. I have already finished the kitchen and dining room.

Lol if he was here I am sure he would. He is gone on a tdy so it is just the kids and I. He is going to paint the man room after he gets it packed.

I painted five walls today. Plus cleaned the storage unit and the little girls room.

I counted and if I only do 1 wall a day it would only take me 15 days to do it all. LOL. I need to get more paint (1 gallon did almost 4 rooms since I just have to get one coat on and then the professional painters will come in and spray the final coat after we move out). I will probably do the living room next.

I'm just amazed  you have time to do all that and allocate enough time for home schooling.  You must wear your Wonder Woman cape every day.

You would be surprised how much you can get done if you set a timer for one hour and stay focused for the entire time on a project. Really an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening and you get a massive amount done.

It really is. I was getting overwhelmed without the list. Having it all written out gives me a jumping off point of what I want to do today during the current level of insanity in our house ;)

My dh should be home this afternoon and I am going to go back to walmart and exchange the paint I bought before he left. I somehow managed to buy 1 can of white paint and 1 can of light base. Just goes to show you don't just take 2 cans from the same spot and not check the labels! I am going to exchange the light base for white and then I can finish painting the walls :) When that is done we can start painting the doors and scrubbing base boards. Oh joy ;)
