Ooh, prayers here too! Did they give you any details, like how long the waiting list is or typical lengths of time before they become available?

They can't give me any info on the wait list. I just called the property manager and detailed our situation being sure to stress that our son has already given himself brain damage in this house and that we can NOT wait for long or we will have to move out on the economy. He took down all our needs and is "going to get with the leasing agent and get back to you". We shall see.

I'm curious - what does the handicap house offer for you in regards to Brent? I understand handicap accessibility, just wanting to understand how it helps with him.

Allows for a room to de-escilate in, clearance around his large therapy tools, wider hallways so he doesn't feel trapped and attack, adapted bathroom with hand rails and adapted bathtub, attached garage so he isn't a flight risk when getting in and out of the car, etc.

Good news! Hope this happens for you all sooner rather than later!! Is it an overall larger home too? That would be a blessing for your family probably too.
