Newest mouth to feed..........

Our newest mouth to feed: A therapy bunny for our oldest daughter's 10th birthday. He was $20 and came with some food, litter, and a massive indoor hutch. He is however quite spoiled and has specific opinions regarding food. He is litter trained so that is great. Hoping that after he and I do some work on his manners he will be a great fit for our daughter. She is autistic and has anxiety issues so when she is holding him and he starts to wiggle and yank at her shirt she freaks out. She however

The month to come. My to do lists :)

I figure I have 3-4 weeks before the house hop to our new house on base (current tenants vacate on the 28th). I just finished the majority my medical to do list today (Upcoming tests in the next 4 weeks: Gastric emptying for my failure to thrive little one, Sedated MRI for my son, EEG for my oldest daughter. All with follow up dr's appts to check results) so my free time can now be spent on working on the move instead of on hold with dr's offices.   I am so overwhelmed I can't even think strai

Spiritually/Emotionally Broken

*Background. My son is autistic. He is an aggressive self harmer who will do anything he can to hurt himself and if you stop him he will then try everything he can to hurt you. He has already given himself brain damage and now has a violent hand tremor from his head slamming behavior.   Today was his first day at a special needs daycare. The medical social worker and behvioral therapist thought it would be good for him to go for 6 hours twice a week. It was meant to be a warm up for the privat

Good news! And a prayer :)

We found out this morning that we were APPROVED for a handicap house in our current military housing   We however have now been put on a waiting list since they don't have a house available.   Prayers that a house comes open and that the Lord moves some mountains here would be appreciated.

A day in the life.

Workbook organization on the cheap ;)

I was going a bit batty dealing with the stacks of workbooks everywhere. Soooooo.............I got all crafty.   First off I started with two boxes, the fabric from the twins old crib bumpers, and some spray adhesive.   Once I got the boxes covered in the fabric I added a divider for the big box so that it could be divided by child. Then I made a label for the front with if the contents were for independent work or if they needed to wait for mom....     Okay my OCD is back in prop

Quick Update :)

Just posting a quick update   We are now a home schooling family. I dropped off our intent to homeschool letter this morning and we have finished our first day of school The kids love it. My oldest daughter started crying today while talking about public school. She said she was glad I am her teacher now because she was scared of her old teacher. Well that kind of says it all right there.   On a related note we had to take $140 out of our FFEF to pay for a lawyer to help us deal with Socia

Another child another specialist.

Today my smallest twin went to see the GI specialist to find out why she is failing to thrive (25lbs and 4yrs old, no weight gain since she turned 2yrs old). Lots of tests and such going on tomorrow (xrays and blood work), depending on those test results there will be an MRI and an endoscopy done soon.   The Dr gave us a prescription for pediasure and miralax but I just talked to our pharmacy and since they are over the counter our insurance won't cover them. If anyone knows how to get them

Big day today :)

Today has been a BIG day at our house   First off today is my littlest little girls first birthday It is so bittersweet. She is my last baby and she is growing up so fast! She will be walking any day now!     Also today was my son's first dentist appointment. It was so hard. His behavioral therapist came this morning to help me get him ready and out the door. Of course even with her here he self harmed himself to the point of giving himself a massive bruised goose egg on the back of h

Our life these days.

It seems like we have lost control of our lives these days. Instead of play dates and after school snacks my life has turned into Dr's appointments, therapy appointments, appointments with lawyers, medical social workers, school social workers, EFMP appointments, etc. In the next 2 weeks we have multiple appointments per day.   No one tells you how hard this is. Don't get me wrong I love the little guy beyond words. He is making amazing strides forward. In September he was 100% non-verbal. No

Picking a new house *sigh*

My husband REALLY wants to move. I have been putting him off for the last few months because we had a new baby and I was not up for all the painting, cleaning, unpacking, etc. He however REALLY wants to move (Have I mentioned he REALLY wants to move?!). I talked him out of buying a house because it is so out of our abilities it isn't even funny. He wanted to move to a new rental last fall and I convinced him to wait till he sewed on his new rank and got his housing allotment raised. There howev

Blessings 12/13

12/13: Just wanted to update Lets see... *I needed some boots for my son and his therapist showed up the other day with a pair for him for free *His other therapist saw how much he likes vibration so she bought him a new vibrating toy for Christmas!' * I looked in the fridge the other day and thought to myself that we were almost out of fruit. Then opened the front door to see a big box of fruit from my great Aunt in WI. *One of my twins is being evaluated for failure to thrive and we were

Just keep swimming :)

We received the check from tricare this afternoon that we were expecting. We were able to pay off the CC charges from our son's care which was a relief for me. We are still expecting a $500 check from one of the doctors for a refunded appointment charge some time in the next few weeks. $100 of that is going to cover our Christmas spending and the rest will go into our FFEF (which at the moment is a BEF since it only has $950 in it). We are 100% current and the budget software is all updated and

Our blessings :)

I have been keeping this list of blessings on another board and thought I would share it here as well. Hope it is helpful to someone! ***************************************************************************************************************************   I have been stressed out beyond belief the last two weeks or so. Trying to pay for my son's medical needs, my husband's medical needs, and our household needs is stressing me out. I have been doing a lot of praying for "the Lord's will t

Prioritizing needs...

I have a list and need to prioritize it. I could use some feedback for sure.   *Melatonin for little man. Neurologist thinks it would help him get some sleep, he is currently up about every 2hours all night long. (He is 2yrs old) *Clothes for little bit. She is 9mths and needs her entire wardrobe for 9-12 mths. I have our 12mth hand-me-downs from the older girls. I am considering just moving her up to the 12 mth clothes and having them just be a big baggie for a while. *Winter coat for my ol

*Pic* Purple Highlights

Since there was so much discussion of my getting purple highlights I thought I would post a pic. As you can see they are SUPER subtle (Like I knew they would be with my hair color). You can only see them when you really look.Although I am sure they will be more noticeable in the natural light. They however make me smile and that was the point Tonight is zumba so I will fit right in

And so it begins....time to start shopping :D

Well we all knew that losing weight wasn't going to be cheap I am at 39lbs down and my pants are now falling off of me. I started at a 20 and am down to a 16 now Trouble is I went through my stash up in the attic and I only own 1 pair of 16 pants. I have lots of size 16 shorts (thanks to 4 years in Hawaii) but only the one pair of pants. Since it is getting COLD here I need more pants Nice problem to have I guess.   I am planning on going to the Airman's Attic and seeing if I can get a pai
