I have spent the last week stressing out about the budget, worrying that it won't stretch, trying to find ways to make this better, etc.
I have talked to my husband till I am blue in the face about all this.
Woke up this morning and didn't even make it to the bathroom before he confessed to "screwing up last night". I won't even know the extent of the damage for a day or so till everything clears. So that $60 in the bank till pay day you can guarantee is pretty much gone.
Why do I ev
You all have been nudging me to find myself so this is all your fault I want highlights, but can't decide on the color. I have short (you all are to "blame" for that as well ) dark brown hair.....
I can't decide on Hot pink, neon blue, or lavender purple
Yes I am serious.
I am getting back in touch with myself and doing what *I* want instead of what is expected of me.
I think purple would be less jarring and probably work the best in daily life. But the hot pink would be so c
Just posting a quick update
We are now a home schooling family. I dropped off our intent to homeschool letter this morning and we have finished our first day of school The kids love it. My oldest daughter started crying today while talking about public school. She said she was glad I am her teacher now because she was scared of her old teacher. Well that kind of says it all right there.
On a related note we had to take $140 out of our FFEF to pay for a lawyer to help us deal with Socia
*Background. My son is autistic. He is an aggressive self harmer who will do anything he can to hurt himself and if you stop him he will then try everything he can to hurt you. He has already given himself brain damage and now has a violent hand tremor from his head slamming behavior.
Today was his first day at a special needs daycare. The medical social worker and behvioral therapist thought it would be good for him to go for 6 hours twice a week. It was meant to be a warm up for the privat
I figure I have 3-4 weeks before the house hop to our new house on base (current tenants vacate on the 28th). I just finished the majority my medical to do list today (Upcoming tests in the next 4 weeks: Gastric emptying for my failure to thrive little one, Sedated MRI for my son, EEG for my oldest daughter. All with follow up dr's appts to check results) so my free time can now be spent on working on the move instead of on hold with dr's offices.
I am so overwhelmed I can't even think strai
Since there was so much discussion of my getting purple highlights I thought I would post a pic. As you can see they are SUPER subtle (Like I knew they would be with my hair color). You can only see them when you really look.Although I am sure they will be more noticeable in the natural light. They however make me smile and that was the point Tonight is zumba so I will fit right in
I typed up a blog post for a linked in deal with other homeschool parents and thought I would share it here as well. Nothing ground breaking but here you go............. http://mimi-on-a-mission.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-day-in-life-homeschooling-with.html
Brent's doctor's appointment went as expected this morning. The doctor strongly suspects that Brent is somewhere on the autism spectrum. Referral is in for the developmental pediatrician and we are making the calls to early intervention to start therapy. We will not have an official diagnosis for some time. Even though I knew that something was "wrong" it still hurts my mama's heart to hear it confirmed. He is our second child with autism
I have $103 to cover all household spending for the rest of the month *sigh*
Here are the things that are either needed or wanted for this month. Would love some help prioritizing them....
*More time on my cell phone. I have 70minutes left on my prepaid but I ran out of service days. Phone is useless without the service days.
*Swim suits for the toddlers. Ideally I would like to get new suits for everyone but the toddlers don't have anything at all to wear. (would be rash guards a
I am just so tired. My husband had his surgery yesterday morning and is having some complications....ever try and support/catch a 200lb unconscious man? Not easy. Ekg, xrays, and blood work show his heart is fine. He is taking it easy and trying to rest. Dealing with lots of swelling and bruising right now along with the pain and passing out.
My dad is in town which is a double edged sword. He is here to help with the kids if I need him but there is also all the excitement of having him here
We have had quite the last few months at our house....
*We moved to a new house! Our current house meets our needs much better than base housing. We went from 1,500 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft. We have a secure backyard, all the interior safety requirements, and a garage for transporting our son safely to and from the car. The rent on this house ends up being $600 less a month then our last house. Electric and gas has been running $200 a month combined. That leaves us $400 towards the extra gas fr
*subscribe and save from amazon posted to the account, I had forgotten all about it. We however do need the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that has been shipped. We are to the point of putting water in our conditioner container and giving it a shake to try and get enough for our hair. Totally out of body wash. I handed my oldest daughter a bar of soap from under the sink and she asked me how to use it *sigh* Will be deleting these recurring shipments in just a second. It is
I swear we are jinxed. This is dh's first week gone again and our first week back at school. The military wives have a saying that the first week dh is gone anything that can go wrong will.
Nothing is going right and we are a mess. Yesterday we called off school when we literally almost died from carbon monoxide poisoning. The alarm kept going off but I thought it was the smoke detector (new house). I kept turing it off because I thought it was malfunctioning. When I started getting incredib
We just got "the call"....I can't go into detail as you all know. I will just say that by this time tomorrow my husband will be gone and we don't know when he will be coming home. Please pray for his safety and he travels to a dangerous location, for my children's understanding, and for my strength.
Thank you all.
Since I hit my 40lb mark this morning I thought I would share the updated pics:
The next 10lbs is a big one for me....I will be in the 100's again for the first time in 4 years (since getting pregnant with the twins) and will be at my halfway mark!
Well we all knew that losing weight wasn't going to be cheap I am at 39lbs down and my pants are now falling off of me. I started at a 20 and am down to a 16 now Trouble is I went through my stash up in the attic and I only own 1 pair of 16 pants. I have lots of size 16 shorts (thanks to 4 years in Hawaii) but only the one pair of pants. Since it is getting COLD here I need more pants Nice problem to have I guess.
I am planning on going to the Airman's Attic and seeing if I can get a pai
It seems like we have lost control of our lives these days. Instead of play dates and after school snacks my life has turned into Dr's appointments, therapy appointments, appointments with lawyers, medical social workers, school social workers, EFMP appointments, etc. In the next 2 weeks we have multiple appointments per day.
No one tells you how hard this is. Don't get me wrong I love the little guy beyond words. He is making amazing strides forward. In September he was 100% non-verbal. No
Today my smallest twin went to see the GI specialist to find out why she is failing to thrive (25lbs and 4yrs old, no weight gain since she turned 2yrs old). Lots of tests and such going on tomorrow (xrays and blood work), depending on those test results there will be an MRI and an endoscopy done soon.
The Dr gave us a prescription for pediasure and miralax but I just talked to our pharmacy and since they are over the counter our insurance won't cover them. If anyone knows how to get them
We found out this morning that we were APPROVED for a handicap house in our current military housing
We however have now been put on a waiting list since they don't have a house available.
Prayers that a house comes open and that the Lord moves some mountains here would be appreciated.
I have a list and need to prioritize it. I could use some feedback for sure.
*Melatonin for little man. Neurologist thinks it would help him get some sleep, he is currently up about every 2hours all night long. (He is 2yrs old)
*Clothes for little bit. She is 9mths and needs her entire wardrobe for 9-12 mths. I have our 12mth hand-me-downs from the older girls. I am considering just moving her up to the 12 mth clothes and having them just be a big baggie for a while.
*Winter coat for my ol
When does this get easier? I mean...does it EVER get easier? We have been doing this plan for almost 4yrs now and I am not feeling the financial peace. We are so far in the red this month it isn't even funny and it is only the 10th! I made cuts and got everything to balance but I am just sick of feeling like this. I am sick of seeing all that red on my budget. After all the bills are paid this month we have $16 left in our account. That is $16 keeping us from overdrawing. (Not counting the FFEF
Know how I was complaining about the hotel we booked into here? Well it got so much worse. It started on Monday with men down in the parking lot drinking. Now I am not a prude or anything I understand that some people drink. However when you sit in a hotel parking lot at 3pm drinking liquor out of a brown paper bag I have an issue. It continued well into the night with several men out there carrying on and listening to music on their radios. Then the prostitutes showed up. I really really REALLY
Our newest mouth to feed: A therapy bunny for our oldest daughter's 10th birthday. He was $20 and came with some food, litter, and a massive indoor hutch. He is however quite spoiled and has specific opinions regarding food. He is litter trained so that is great. Hoping that after he and I do some work on his manners he will be a great fit for our daughter. She is autistic and has anxiety issues so when she is holding him and he starts to wiggle and yank at her shirt she freaks out. She however
So as you ALL know my grocery budget is snug this month. However we were able to make cuts and move stuff around and now have $610 for this months groceries. We also got WIC yesterday which will help a ton (going to the store with my WIC stuff this afternoon when my husband gets home from his class).
So far our YNAB shows that we have spent $424 this month (I still have $80 of that in cash in my envelope).
Last Saturday I was able to get a weeks groceries for $67.38 Most of that was just
