Well that is unless you call this weather ugly. Its been so cold here again. I know 50s isn't bad but when the nights are still in the 30s and you have frost on your windows in the Am. Baseball games have been brutal. I am a die hard mom who tries to attend all games and yes I sit out in my lawn chair freezing. We have 2 more games this week and the wind is suppose to whip and the temps the same. Then next week it will hopefully get warmer or maybe I am wishing it will be. I guess that is Minnes
So I am sure I will get a wet noodle beating for this since we are in BS2 yet but it was a much needed trip. Emotionally and physically (well not actually physically as I am exhausted 2 days later still).
My state had its State Wrestling Tournament this past weekend and we went. My DS16 wrestles and so I was saving as you never know if he would make it to the tourney wrestling or not. My DS23 made it his first year and we didn't thing he would. So I figured I was going to be prepared this ti
Well due to taxes and vehicle issues our snowball throwing is on hold. We have to pay into taxes this year, both state and federal so untill we know the exact amount we are not throwing any snowballs. Then on top of that I need 2 new tires. I had some vehicle issues what were fixed back a few months. Those issues caused the tires to wear unevenly and more extinsively then they should. So before we go on any long trips we need to put 2 tires on and we are planning a trip to go see the grandson an
This past Sunday my husband drove 4 hours to go see the grandson being born. Ok he wasn't in the room but at the hospital. She was having a scheduled C-section due to the little boy being breech. It was a 6am Monday morning. I new this would be coming soon so we have set a side money for gas, food, and a hotel stay. Now I was not able to get off work and we will be going down this weekend again.
My DH comes home last night and said that he only has $5 left for the week of his blow money. Whe
I have never felt this way before. This program really does change your life. The past few months there have been many things that have come up that would have put in me a major stress depression. I listed them below.
1. Extra Gas and football tickets, as my son's team made it to state football.
2. Vehicle needing $500 in repairs
3. Plugged sewer drain
4. Christmas: Extra gas to go shopping, presents, and more groceries needed.
5. A baby being born X 2
6. Carbondioxide alarm going off,
I can't believe its been a month since I have posted a blog so I figured I would update.
We paid off 1 loan and 1 credit card in the past month. Things are moving along rather smoothly. Hate to say almost too smoothly but after Septembers murphys maybe he has left us for a few months. Nice thing is the murphys are more of a small bump in the road then a huge mountain to climb.
Hubby couldn't believe it when we went over how much our snowball is if we behave ourselves and don't go off bud
Am I wrong?
My Dh and I have gotten in to our first real argument when it comes to the kids and money. I feel bad as I am not sure if I am being hard on her like he says I am.
So my Step Daughter 23 asked for help with her student loan interest payment a few months ago. We have been helping every so often. Well after not really wanting to I agreed to put the $50 a month in the budget. This is divided between her mother, us, and her. So the other day she messages my Husband and says she
Thought I would do a small update on those dang murphy's that seem to like me lately.
1. Computer is fixed $70
2. water heater part should be here today. Love our "On-Demand" heater but hate the time it takes to get parts. This part is still under warranty so as long as that fixes the problem it would be $0 just more of a problem with having to take luke warm showers OK more like chilly showers for me.
3. Vehicle goes in tomorrow finally to see what that will cost. We were trying to
The past few weeks have just not went my way. I am some of the problem the other is murphy.
So we have 3 times in the next 2 months that we will have to stay in a hotel.
1 is already complete, that was last week when we moved my daughter into the dorm. She is going to school 6 hours away and the move in times did not allow for us to do a drive up and back. Also we did that twice in June and it made for a long day and we pay for it for days later with our sore backs and knees. So we did a
Its been another month of ups and downs.
We paid off another Card lastnight. I tried to get my DH to push the submit button but he looked at me like I was weird. YES I am weird, I was all getty and excited about paying off the Sears card. That means our water softener, TV, and freezer are all paid for!! Ok I know they were paid for before I hit that button but now it really feels like it. This doesn't make the snowball go up by much as the Min was only $25 but it does help.
Well Murphy has hit our house.
So not only am I trying to fund my sister's baby shower but Murphy has stopped by. I am busy preparing for the shower this weekend. I am thankfully not funding it myself but my mother and her mother-in-law are helping with the cost but most of the work is on me.
Murphy decided to make the fan in my truck stop working. This is something that has happened about every 6 months lately. Its a cheap part of only $80 normally and luckily my DH can fix it but the m
We are rolling along, not much to say about us but need to vent about a friend. Can't on FB as we are friends there. Here I am safe.
So today she called me to talk. They always struggle for money but seem to always have money to buy items. If that makes sense. She wanted to know how much a Passport costs and how long they take to get. When I told her I asked why "you fleeing the country while the kids are gone". She laughted and said no her and her DH were talking about taking the kids on a
I am feeling a little blue this week.
The other day I was talking with my DH after he had just finished talking with a friend and had made the comment "the wife won't let me". See he wants an enclosed snowmobile trailer, I have know this for awhile. So I told him how that hurt me for him to say this. He said will its the truth, we would go out now and get one since his truck is paid off. He isn't doing this cause "I" want to pay off the debt, he doesn't care if we have payments. I tried to t
Its been awhile since I have posted. We are just rolling along at a steady pace but soon we will be headed down a hill and will be picking up speed. On Tuesday my DH's paycheck will be deposited into the checking account. With this check we will be making the final payment on his pickup. With this we will have a $350/month increase in snowball. Also with our regular snowball we will also be adding $30 from another bill that will be paid off. Then once I see his check amount (it will be more then
Its been moving right along, no real murphys to complain about.
I went into April thinking it will be a great month of snowballs being tossed. Then the bills come in. One of the DDs had went to the DR for not feeling well ( needed antidepressants). The med she was put on made her sick, she had to go back in. New med and that works. So we have 2 Dr visits to pay for and since its shortly after the new year we still haven't made our deducatable so all that is coming out of our pocket. Great t
Figured I better update since its been over a week.
Murphy can back on Saturday in full force. My DH went to the "city" to go truck shopping with the DS and while there he ended up driving over a metal bar that puntured his tire. The hole is so big that they can't plug it so he is in need of a new tire. Thankfully my husband is a horder and has a set in the garage that he can put on, so this will only cost us about $20 for them to be mounted. He will help so that is why it is so cheap. Then
Things are moving along slow and steady will maybe a little shaky sometimes.
First off the many murphys have seemed to stop for now. Washer is fixed $220 later, the rentals have water and heat those bills to be paid shortly, and my vehicle is running smoothly (ok starting right up I guess it should be). Replace the battery for $85. We did have to touch the BEF for $75 but that will be replaced today when I sit down and do the bills.
DH got an extra $400 in his check so that really helped
I feel like I am sitting her spinning my wheels. I can see where I need to be, I know how to get there. Yet I am not moving. I quess its better then being in reverse but I am so tired of this.
I just feel like if it can go wrong it will. Like my DH said, think murphey knows its tax time. We seem to have one Murphy thing happening after another.
1. washer breaks (ended up being the Pump) $250 estimated. Final bill not in yet.
2. Frozen pipes in our rental house. DH could fix so only $
Well Murphy hit a few times this weekend.
Hubby wakes up on Saturday morning, went to start a load of laundry and the washer won't work. It turns on and lights up but to movement. Its like its stuck in start up mode. We tried all the things we found when googling the issue, nothing just sits there. So he called a technician to come. They will be stopping some time this afternoon.
So now the hubby is pissy and I think that only added to the rest of the day.
Saturday evening about 6:45
Ok so my title is not exactly true, found out yesterday my baby sister (30) is expecting. I am so excited for her, she is running into morning sickness issues and I am trying to help her through that. We will find out more next week on due date and what not.
We are trucking along in BS2. Someday I wonder why I am doing this. I work more then I would like, miss out on stuff that happens but I am making it. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I just had to ride this train alittle
Well we finally got the rental houses refinanced. This took a LONG 2.5 years which I won't bore you with the story. I did type it out but figured it was to long and no one would want to read it anyway. Lets just say, make sure you have a banker that wants to work and get stuff done fast, and all your loan paperworks gets updated with you refinance (like the abstract and that they still are not on the title).
So my DH goes to the bank on Friday to sign the paperwork. He gets signing and it
Made the final BEF deposit today!
We are on to BS2 and can't wait to start snowballing. I know that will have to wait till next pay day, but we are on the way. We have alot of small ones so we should start seeing progress right away which is great otherwise I think I would get bored and stray from the plan.
Company Debit amount Payment
Anesthesiology Associates $44.60 $20.00
Buffalo Ridge Pool $166.47 $100.00
24Karat Card $190.84
I am so excited!!! After getting paid yesterday we are only $77 short on a Full BEF. I am expecting a check anytime now that will be $70 so all I need is to find the $7 and we are good. Thinking I can find that in just change laying around. Then its on to Snowballing the Debt in BS2.
DH did it again. I got home yesterday and there was a snowmobile registration laying on the counter. UGH!! I about screamed. I asked why he got it and he replied there was a Snowmobile Fun Run Saturday that he w
Well yes and no. The down site is I had to wait a day for the rest of my check. The plus side, I get an extra $17 on my check. This is due to the amount of gross pay and what is taken out in taxes. Yes my company only paid us for 1 holiday instead of the 2 we were supposed to get. I work for a company that does subcontracting to other companies and since I work for/at a company that pays their employees for both Christmas Eve and day we get paid the same holidays and I guess someone at my compan
Its been a long time since I have done a blog. Figured this would be the best way for me to get my thoughts out about this Journey we are taking to get "Debt Free".
First off, I have ran the numbers and if we stick to it we can be out of BS2 by the end of 2014. Yes that would be a great Christmas gift for ourselves.
Huband says he is on board but I am not so sure. He will make comments that make me feel like I am the only one wanting to do this. He is still talking about going on a snowm
