Questions about coordinating FPU

We plan on coordinating a new FPU class @ our church this fall. It will be the first class in 3 years, so we have the older materials. Do we need to upgrade? Also we are new coordinators, so not completely sure what to do. I contacted Dave's organization via e-mail on Wed. & no reply back yet.

We'd like to get the ball rolling soon, but we aren't exactly sure what to do to make it happen.

Any advice is appreciated.

I would highly recommend getting Dave's new materials. The class members workbooks will be geared toward the newer version. Sometimes DR offers special deals when you purchase X number of FPU kits you get the class videos free. I do know that our church was able to get them for a reduced rate since they owned the previous version, so that's something to look into as well.

As far as getting the ball rolling, have you begun to advertise the course at your church? On DR's website there are videos you can show in church if your church has that capability.

Since it's been several years since the course was offered, you might want to have an informational night where you answer questions or show a short DR video...I think he has one that would work on his site.

where are you in northern michigan??? i want to do the fpu classes with dh - we are in northern mi too (but, what are the chances you'd be near houghton)?????

You need the new materials. Many times, the leaders kit is free with X number of class kits purchased.

Thanks for the advice all. I'll further contact DR's group about getting the new materials. We plan to start the class in the fall right after school starts to hopefully be done before Christmas.

And sorry Michelle, we are in northern lower Michigan, near Cadillac. When I saw Houghton, I was thinking Houghton Lake, which wouldn't be too far. But then I saw your user name & figured it out. Hopefully you can find a class close to you.

I just signed up to do a class as well... Starting Sept 7 and ends nov 30, before the big christmas rush.
