How do I get rid of this line on my profile? I do not like what this implies about me, especially since it's not true.

It reflects your post count. Post more and it'll change to something else.

See, mine is different because I post too much.

I post so much that I don't have one anymore!

Actually, I don't know why mine is missing. Oh well!

Yeah, I've wondered that Shelby! You're just a tagline outcast. :wtg3:

I wondered about that since I don't like "stuff" or shopping and actually am constantly throwing/giving away "stuff."

My thoughts exactly. I have way too much clutter.

I'm glad you asked that--I have been wondering the same thing, trying to figure out what I was missing to change it!

Thanks

Mine is missing too, I think. That's ok- I wasn't really looking forward to the one that said "SOLD the kids!" Folks would think that'd e enough to not only get us out of debt, but all the way up to BS6 or somewhere therabouts!

I'm at "I like stuff" too, I read a thread somewhere which outlines how many posts you make to get what expression. I don't mind so much though, cos I do like stuff, though I'm working on it.

The one that puzzles me is "Drank the Koolaid".
Although I'm in the UK and we don't have Koolaid I know what it is cos I'm a knitting junkie and I know people who have used Koolaid to dye yarn rather than to make a soft drink.

What does "Drank the Koolaid" mean in a Dave Ramsey context? (Just ignore this if you think it's a thread-jack.) K x

It's actually a cult reference. Not a very nice one either. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool-Aid#.22Drinking_the_Kool-Aid.22

Having "drunk the Kool-Aid" also refers to being a strong or fervent believer in a particular philosophy or mission -- wholeheartedly or blindly believing in its virtues. Quote from Wikipedia

This is the phrase that jumped out at me in this reference.
Thank you very much, I'd never have realised that on my own. I thought it was something like drinking Koolaid instead of spending lots of money on Coke or something. I'd never have come up with the other version in a million years. I'm going to study the reference in depth now, sounds a bit way out there.:crazy2:

I understand the origins of the phrase, and I also understand its controversial nature. I try to read it like the old expression, "Bought it hook, line, and sinker." (Which apparently has its origins in the fishing community!)

HA! Well, now mine says "Wanna buy my car?" which is exactly where we're at . . . desperatley trying to get out of our 2006 Sienna (which we bought one year old with 0% interest so it kills me to get rid of it but I'm at the point now where I can't wait to sell it to get out of the payment, 0% interest or not).

I found the Kool Aid quote . . . I was reading the TMM book and it's on p. 111 . . . "This step requires the most effort, the most sacrifice, and is where all your broke friends and relatives will make fun of your (or join you). this step requires youto shave your hread and drink the Kool-Aid. Just kidding, but not by much."

I posted this thread called User Ranks. I will explain when you should get a different Rank when you reach a different post count. Doesn't work right all the time, but it will give you a general guideline.
