DH and I attend a very small church (with a very small budget). Last year, we purchased the kit for the church, and donated two membership kits, enabling the church to sell 4 kits at a 50% discount. There was a great turn-out for FPU, drawing in members and non-members alike.

We intend to do FPU for 2008 as well.... but I hate to think about having to front the money to buy another kit, when we spent $500 not even 6 months ago. On one hand I say "Had we known it was going to be obsolete, we would have waited and purchased the 2008 kit" - but on the other hand, I know it was a huge blessing to people in 2007. We've had 4 couples contact us since the completion of FPU, to tell us they, too, are now debt-free.

Do we continue working from the old materials, or try to come up with the money to buy 2008? The church has trouble paying it's own bills right now, so I know asking them to front the $300 wouldn't fly. What's a poor church to do?

PM'd you.

BTW the old stuff still works, and can still be used. Just tell folks that some of the numbers are out of date. The principles involved are still valid.
