How critical is the workbook?

I am looking at some FPU options (CD, DVD, etc.) and see that a lot come without the workbook or with a completed workbook.

Yes, I know that I can purchase another workbook, but is it critical to the program?

To write down his keywords, you'd remember the lesson better. It also has forms and other information in it. I'd get it, I like using mine as a refresher from time to time.

We got FPU online for FREE from DR since DH is a vet.
Haven't started it yet though...probably over Christmas vacation.
