We have a awesome class for our 9th FPU class. When closing one of the participants asked if I would stick around and fully explain the ZBB to them as they where having issues. I said sure, no problem glad to help!

Well setting down with them (simi private area), they go on to ask about doing the Baby's Steps out of order, I gave one of my "canned" speech's about sticking to the steps, its important. And then they told me well its the step 1 we are concerned about and then I realized they are having financial difficulties, and where behind, just had one of their vehicles repoed this past week, and the DH was out of a job, but found a GOOD job and as he was going to his first day on the job this past week his boss was leaving with all his stuff in a box and said the company was shutting down. :yk:

I asked him what do you do? And he said he was a Mortgage broker and the mortgage company he was working for closed down and his new job he never made it to closed its doors as he was showing up for work. And he said all that your hearing that is going on in the mortgage world, well it is him and effecting them big time, and all I could say is wow, and I prayed with them. They just moved out of a $1200 a month apartment into a $975 a month home to lower their rent. The landlord let them move in for the deposit only so that already puts them behind on September rent, and discussing the repro was to emotional for his DW while we all where sitting there and she broke down in tears at the table................

I told them that as bad as things look now you guys have hope, put your trust in the Lord, which they are doing. And with the information from this class you guys will prevail! In fact they showed me their first budget and despite all that they are going through they still are giving 3% to their church, I know some of you think that is stupid, but I absolutely admire that, they are truly putting their faith in the Lord to help them through these rough times. The DW started a new job last week, DH is out of a job, obviously, and I asked him what work are you willing to take, he said ANYTHING! No more than 3 minutes after that, he found out our local Super Wal-Mart is hiring over 100 people for the fall season, and it so happens the Manager of that store, well She is a member of our church who has also gone through FPU a couple of years ago and is a leader in the Womens ministry at our Church, and she happen to over hear their situation and his need for immediate work. They needed immediate employment and behold it appears it is coming through, while not a career job, its is a job to put food on the table when it is needed the up most, NOW!

Its amazing how small miracles seam to come to past every single day, even in FPU.

Roy,
Thank you for sharing that story.

I admire people that work to get themselves out of a mess instead of complaining.

Great story, I really enjoyed reading it.

I have been thinking about leading a class and eventually becoming a part time/volunteer counselor.

Unfortunately, I travel quite a bit and it would be hard to commit to the entire program. Maybe some day.

You know that was a problem I had as well, spend a lot of time on the road. But I felt we where being lead to help get FPU started in our Church and finally said, OK God if you want me to do this I need Sunday nights off, and when we started not knowing if I could even hold Sundays off I got them off and made every single class! So I would say pray about it, if he wants you to do it, it will happen.

Just to add to the testamonies for FPU I recieved this from one of our grads from our last class:

Jim and Fellow FPU grads.,

It is with great joy and also some regrets, but I will be leaving [HERE] and moving back to [THERE] . Due to the great blessings we received from FPU, we have organized our finances to the point that the salary at [UNNAMED COMPANY], is not worth the miles between us and the great things we worked so many years to achieve.

We were absolutely driven to make more in the belief that we needed stuff. What we found is we needed more of Christ in our lives and have put God back in control of everyday matters. I wasn’t looking for other employment at the time I moved here and God has opened up so many doors to us while I’ve been living here that we can not ignore the signs he has given us.

I was introduced to a company that is in desperate need of some one in [THERE] with my skill set and since our finances are in order it is time to make the move back home. Just so you know since July 1st we have paid off three credit cards and since May have paid off $10,000 in debt, Although FPU is not a cure all, it has highlighted our weaknesses and shown us how to live and give what we have. We don’t fear not having enough, when all along we had it, just didn’t know where it was going. Thank you and Kim and all of my class mates so very much, for your budgeting tools, delivering Dave’s message and your loving support.

Your email came at a great time, because we purchased VIP tickets to Dave’s Live Event back in June and now that we will be moving back to [THERE] would like to offer them to anyone in our FPU class or in your upcoming class. Dave’s Ministry has really blessed our life and we would truly love to help some others hear his message. If you would like for me to drop them off to you I will, or anyone can contact me if they would like them. God Bless you all.

Weekend classes are a great idea, I can keep them free no problem. I assumed they were always weekday since the 10+ I looked at in our metro area were all during the week.

I will have to look into getting it into our church.
