This is so cool. Tonight was our last night of FPU for the spring and we had about 15 people there [started with about 20, so not too bad!]. As we were talking about how relationships had changed one couple was completely honest. They told us they were 'this far' from separating when they started FPU in January and now they're more in love and stronger than they've ever been. She said if we'd been watching we'd be able to see it in their body language. The first night, they were sitting as far away from each other as they could and still be in chairs next to each other. Now they hold hands or he has his arm around her etc.

It is so cool! God is so good!

That IS cool!

We just had a testimony in our class the other night (#5)... She described how he used to blindly hand her the money and she dealt with the bills. In just the first four weeks of the class, their communication has greatly improved, and they have made excellent progress in a very short time. She chalks it up to their being on the same page, once they started the reading (which they started ahead of the class).

It is wonderful to see how this works, for finances AND families!

They did not do a wrap-up with the class we attended.....Wish they had, it would've been great to hear stories from people we got to know over the 13 weeks.

We'll have to do a wrap up during week 13...

After week one this is what we've received so far:

'I really enjoyed Monday night. I'm glad you are doing this....'

'Dear Jim and Kim,

If I wait to write you a handwritten note, it might not happen, so please forgive an email instead of a note. I was so moved last night, I almost started crying (no kidding). Words don't adequately express how wonderful it was to see both of you up there giving your time to help people in what I consider a very important ministry. It is encouraging to see a young couple with four small kids at home give up their free time to serve the Lord. I know that God has already richly blessed both of you with four wonderful children. They are sweet and well behaved. It is a great honor for me to know both of you and to see you in action. Keep up the good work. Since you have done this before, you know there will be those who won't follow what you are teaching, but you will still reach some folks and really help them.

Serving the Lord isn't always easy and it doesn't always bring much in the way of thanks or compliments. Whenever you feel discouraged or think that what you are doing doesn't matter, I hope you will pull out this email and read it.'

All Kim and I could say was "Wow!"

These are the very reason we are starting our 9th Class in August of this year.

I am glad you started this post because SOOOO many people think they really don't need this class and after it is over Gail and I both hear how wonderfult he class was and how thankful they are that they made the decision to go through it.

We had one couple in our last class that was already on Baby Step 6 when they started the class and after the class they must of thanked us 20 times for having the class.

Yeah you will learn to get out of debt and set up a ZBB and other things Dave takes about every day, but in our book that is the secondary reason to attend.

Thanls for sharing.
