Yes, Kim and I finally got going again! This will be only the second time for us, but we went to Roy and Gail's 13th lesson of their last class, and then to their house to torment them some more about all the fun things they did! We've been to the FPU coordinator site too and got lots of ideas from there! We planning on having a ton of fun with this thing...Kim reminded me we need an FPU budget line...:yikes:

Any way we've already had one orientation, and are looking forward to another one tomorrow. At least 2 people have contacted me from Dave's site so far, as people are finding out that there are few classes starting in the summer...maybe that will be a niche for us....:wtg:

Appreciate the prayers for this upcoming class, thanks.

Best of luck! I wish there was a class close to me. They're all in the opposite direction from where I drive to work and school

Well you could always start one where you are!

Ha, ha, ha! Me and my big mouth. Actually I barely have time to do anything extra right now. I'm working and going to school fulltime. I graduate in 30 more days! Woohoo! I've neglected my weight, house, husband, finances, did I say weight? during all this time and that's got to get straightened out first. However....I would love to become a counselor. In fact we're moving to Louisiana next year and I'm seriously thinking of getting started then since I'll be "looking for a job."

LOL unfortunately none. We're going to the dark side and retire near Barksdale AFB.

LOL unfortunately none. We're going to the dark side and retire near Barksdale AFB.Barksdale isn't a bad place, been there a couple of times. Just because the AF is the junior service doesn't mean we're the 'Dark Side'...
Funny after 20 years in the AF Reserves (Ret-thank you very much!), I just realized that I was in a third the time the service has been around...

Kim and I ordered 10 kits out of our own money, and hoped for the best, figuring that we could always use the 'leftovers' for future classes. When we ordered the kits we only had 4 or 5 people signed up. We did one more announcement at church yesterday, and that brought the total to...ready? 10 Kits sold!! God is so faithful, even when I doubted. We even had two Alumni coming to the class: one couple is 1 Alumni 1 new, the other couple is off the wagon trying to get back on!! Looking forward to a great class, and lots of fun!

Hey Jim,

I was just googling to see whatever happened to the former former (that's 2 back, lol) pastor of our church and found the website of his current church and scrolling along the bottom was a message that Financial Peace University was starting soon and to contact Jim or Kim... and I was like, "HEY!"

So how about an update on the class?

So does his name happen to be 'Woody'? Did you go to the Brenham Bible Church website?

Any way... I replied to the good stuff in another thread somewhere, but all is well, and we are looking forward to a great class!! It's going to be fun!

Yes and yes. LOL. We visited this church 2 weeks before the due date of our first child (who is now 15). That day was the day Woody announced he was leaving. Man, people were crying all over the place. It was a bit awkward for us visitors... but we obviously came back. We never met Woody but he was clearly well-loved by the congregation.

The man that was eventually named senior pastor after Woody resigned last year, but under much different circumstances. It's been a tough time.

Glad to hear it's going well for your class.
